The Dirty Birdie Classic Timeline
- 2014-2019: 4-man golf weekend @ LochenHeath Golf Club (“LGC”) and other various Northern Michigan Golf Courses (typically, held second weekend of May);
- 2020: 4-man golf weekend @ LochenHeath (last weekend of April);
- 2020: 6-man (7-man if you count Derek’s best friend Doug) golf weekend @ LochenHeath (held second weekend of May);
- 2021: Field Expands to 16 golfers, Ryder Cup Format is announced; Team Paulina led by Captain Greg Smith defeated Team Jena led by Captain Dan Brown by a score of 19.5 to 10.5;
- 2022: Field Expands to 20 golfers; Team Jena led by Captain Dan Brown defeated Team Paulina led by Greg Smith by a score of 23.5 to 16.5.
- 2023: After 3 rounds, the teams were deadlocked at 10 points a piece with the ever-important singles matches being played on Saturday Afternoon for the first time in DBC history. Team Stone Cold led by Captain Greg Smith was able to pull away by winning the Singles Round 11.5 to 8.5 to win the 2023 DBC by a score of 21.5 to 18.5.
- 2024: In a shocking DBC twist, Founding Fathers and OG Captains, Dan Brown and Greg Smith, resign their 2024 captaincy on the 2024 DBC Draft Night. DBC Committee Members, Trevor Stewart and Nick Crowley, step up and take their captaincies. Team Jacked-Up Derek (Pink Team) led by Trevor Stewart manhandle Team Sleeping Derek (Blue Team) by a final score of 29.5 to 15.5. The largest margin of victory in DBC history.
- 2025: Despite the 2025 DBC Field being down 4 individuals, 2025 played out eerily similar to 2024, with Captain Trevor Stewart's Team Bruce Jenner racing out to a 10.5 to 1.5 lead over Captain Nick Crowley's Team John Daly after Day One. Team John Daly's 3 to 1 victory in the Scramble portion came a little to late as Team Bruce Jenner was able to lock up the match early in the Singles Matches to take the 2025 DBC by a Final Score of 24 to 12.
- 2026: The 2026 DBC was the most competitive DBC yet as Team Maverick lead by Captain Nick Crowley was determined to not get swept at the hands of Captain Trevor Stewart and Team Iceman. Despite trailing 4-1 after Round 1, Team Maverick rebounded with a 6.5 - 3.5 victory in Round 2 to tie the match at 7.5 to 7.5 heading into Day Two. Round 3 saw Team Maverick take its first lead in three years by winning Round 3. Heading into the Round 4 Singles Matches, Team Maverick held a 13 to 12 lead. Despite a 6-1 performance by Captain Chowder and a 5-0-2 from his wingman, Winks, Team Iceman prevailed in the final match to take the 2026 DBC by a final score of 23 to 22, completing the first ever THREEPEAT for Captain Trevdawg.
